The role of the Americorps Library Associate & Garden Educator is to support the library and teaching garden at Langston Hughes Academy. This split position works half time with students in the library and half-time in the school garden teaching garden class. In the library, the corps member will assist with book check out, keep bulletin boards up to date and aesthetically pleasing, and organize book returns and library materials. In the garden, the corps member will assist with preparation of supplies and the garden, lead a small group during garden class, manage middle school interns, and support with garden maintenance.
