Edible School Yard (FirstLine Schools)
The role of the Americorps Network Gardener & Volunteer Coordinatoris to support ESYNOLA garden teaching teams at multiple schools with physical gardening tasks. In collaboration with the program manager and the site gardener & greenhouse manager, the corps member ensures all ESYNOLA gardens are maintained according to ESY standards and that teams receive support with the management of weekly individual garden volunteers and volunteer groups. Garden duties include routine tasks like weeding, watering, turning beds and compost, planting, and harvesting to supply school harvest tables. On occasion, Saturday mornings are required to support community volunteer days and special events.
