International Rescue Committee
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) resettles refugees moving from nearly 50 countries to the Greater Atlanta area. IRC in Atlanta resettles an average of 800 refugees in Georgia annually and provides additional services to another 1,500 refugees and asylees.
NDA members assist with several main IRC services. They help with ESL and citizenship instruction, support the computer literacy program, and assist with cultural orientation. In addition, they provide support to the women’s health program and help new Americans access health resources. Members help connect refugees and asylees to a variety of services and resources.
