Humility of Mary Housing
Organization Description:
Through our supportive services Caring Compass Program, we provide education to individuals and families who have experienced homelessness and have a disability and are living in our housing, through Life Skills group classes and through individual case management. At our youth (18-24 year old) housing site, as well as our family housing sites, residents learn in groups and in individual sessions about essential life skills, mental health, substance abuse, relationships, health, budgeting, employment, housing stability, and more. We take a person-centered approach to service provision, in which clients are empowered to establish goals in their Individualized Service Plan that are most meaningful to them, and the case managers serve to help the clients achieve those goals. Children residing in our family sites also receive services through partnerships with local agencies and schools who provide supports focused on meeting the needs of children transitioning from homelessness. On-site tutoring is offered, as well as educational and social enrichment opportunities for the children in our locations.
